Dear Friends:

We have now entered the Hebraic month of Shevat.  With each month, we join together to enter into the Rosh Chodesh blessing of the month and to present our Firstfruits. Start this year understanding the power of Rosh Chodesh that will cause the blessings of the Lord to overtake you. In the midst of a season of supply crisis, the Spirit of God wants you to have barns filled for your future. This year we set the course for the next ten years.  This Wednesday at our Noon Corporate Worship and Intercession time, we will also release the Hebraic blessing associated with this month.  If you are in the area and can join us onsite, please do so!  For those who cannot join us here at Glory of Zion, you can join us by webcast at noon (CST).  We will also offer this celebration service as an “on demand” webcast replay through the end of January.  This will be perfect for your House of Zion, Church of Zion or Ministry of Zion Gathering! Gather together and set your course for blessings!

Why do we participate in Firstfruits? When I was 18 years of age, the Lord visited me and gave me a promise that He could “restore all that I had lost”.  Our family had gone through a great shaking and was scattered. One scripture that changed my life was, “Honor the LORD with your possessions, and with the FIRSTFRUITS of all your income; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine” (Proverbs 3:3-10). As I began to give Him my firstfruits, restoration came and is still coming!

I want to be sure that each of you understands the concept of the Lord’s Rosh Chodesh blessing. Chodesh means “new”.  Each month of the year has a unique prophetic significance, and a unique blessing attached to it! Firstfruits:

  1. Reminds us that God is the SOURCE of all blessings!
  2. Teaches us to seek His Kingdom FIRST!
  3. Demonstrates that He remains our FIRST Love!
  4. Shows that as we sojourn by faith between the time of our Wave Offering and the Gathering of Spoils, our return is directed by Him!
  5. Creates an expectation of God INTERVENING!
  6. Expresses CONFIDENCE that our Father will provide!
  7. Shows that we know a maturing INHERITANCE is coming!
  8. Declares a final INGATHERING is coming! (Heb. 11:13-14, Eph. 1:11,14,18; Col. 1:12; I Peter 1:4)

I encourage each of you to join us to celebrate Firstfruits this Wednesday at Noon!   If you will be joining us by webcast, please go to our website for details on how to sign on.   I will be releasing the blessing of Shevat.  Robert Heidler will explain Rosh Chodesh and we will impart a key for this month … a month to shout “My blessings are on the way!”

Haiti Relief
I know that all of us are praying for the people of Haiti at this time.  Garnet and Frances Pike are long time friends of the ministry with a connection to Haiti. Their son-in-law, Matt Bennett, is with People to People, an arm of the International Pentecostal Holiness Church.  Matt is in Haiti at the moment assessing the situation in order to better know how to assist with relief and the long term effort. People to People sponsors 3,000 children in Haiti with 7 schools and 37 churches.  He attended church services yesterday where people were worshiping God with tremendous love and passion.  However, he said everyone in the service had lost at least one family member.  We will be sending funds through this effort for Haiti Relief. Pray for the people as the Spirit of God begins a new work.  Ask the Lord to rebuild this island and people with His foundation.

The Word of God revolves around the Feasts. They were holy assemblies for holy rehearsals. The remembrance of these physical events causes us to understand the spiritual significance of what came and what is to come!  Today, there is a futility in legalistically participating in the Feasts.
